LEVYsalon expands, adds Sunday matinee

LEVYdance is expanding its successful LEVYsalon artist-in-residence program by doubling the performance opportunities for artists supported by the program.

Beginning in April, LEVYsalon’s Saturday-evening performance will be followed by a Sunday matinee showcase. This expansion is made possible by the generous support of Bob Trombly, a past member of the LEVYdance Board of Directors and an advocate for local artists.

LEVYdance welcomes U.K.'s 2Faced Dance to SF

Work on the groundbreaking production RUSH continues in San Francisco with the arrival of U.K. collaborator 2Faced Dance for two weeks of intense rehearsal.

2Faced Executive Artistic Director Tamsin Fitzgerald, producer Ian Abbott, and dancers Jason Boyle, Louis Parker-Evans, and Kai Tomioka arrived Aug. 30 from Herefordshire, England, for the Sept. 1-16 residency.

LEVYdance lands prestigious NDP award

LEVYdance has been awarded $90,000 from the New England Foundation for the Arts to provide essential funding for creation and touring of its groundbreaking project "RUSH."

Each year, the New England Foundation for the Arts presents National Dance Project awards to exceptional artists across the globe, making the NDP widely recognized as one of the country’s major sources of funding for dance. 

LEVYdance unveils fully-renovated LEVYstudio

LEVYdance has proudly unveiled its newly-renovated home studio, a space now more open, flexible and functional than ever.

Highlights include a refinished sprung wood floor; beautifully detailed, ADA-compliant bathrooms; a new LED lighting and top-tier sound system; walls fully mapped for 360-degree projection; and movable partitions to maximize use options for the space.
