LEVYdance welcomes U.K.'s 2Faced Dance to SF

Work on the groundbreaking production "RUSH" continues in San Francisco with the arrival of U.K. collaborator 2Faced Dance Company for two weeks of intense rehearsal.

2Faced Executive Artistic Director Tamsin Fitzgerald, producer Ian Abbott, and dancers Jason Boyle, Louis Parker-Evans, and Kai Tomioka arrived Aug. 30 from Hereford, England, for the Sept. 1-16 residency.

The residency will include a rigorous 76 hours of rehearsal time at LEVYdance’s SoMa studio, where the artists will flesh out choreographic and storytelling elements of RUSH. The residency will culminate with an open studio rehearsal Sept. 16 showcasing the progress made on the piece.

These rehearsals are a continuation of work that began in December 2016, when LEVYdance visited the U.K. for a 10-day intensive. LEVYdance will later return to England for another eight weeks of residency at 2Faced’s Herefordshire studio.
