The LEVYdance Board of Directors has announced the addition of attorney Laura Goodall to its Board, bringing LEVYdance’s governing body to nine members.
Laura is Senior Associate at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP in Palo Alto, where her practice focuses on representing companies and individuals in complex litigation, class actions lawsuits, and government enforcement actions. She also litigates civil rights issues in her active pro bono practice and regularly publishes on the subjects of art law and cultural heritage issues.
"I am excited to be joining the Board of LEVYdance because I seek to contribute to LEVYdance's mission of innovative art-making, collaboration in the creative process, and engagement with audiences about the shared human experience,” Laura says.
Her passion for dance began in childhood and continued well into university. At Columbia University, she performed with the Columbia Ballet Collaborative, interned with the Los Angeles Ballet, and later served as Columbia Ballet Collaborative’s Executive Director.
While attending the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Laura worked as a judicial intern for the Honorable Gary A. Feess of the U.S. District Court for California's Central District, and served as an Articles Editor for the University's Journal of Constitutional Law. She also worked in comparative conservation law in Madrid, Spain, with an organization that advises the Spanish Ministry of the Environment.
With her new association to LEVYdance, Laura says she’s thrilled to once again be involved in arts administration. "I believe deeply in the continued relevance of dance in our technology-oriented society. I hope to help facilitate turning artistic visions into reality by developing new works that speak to modern audiences."
In addition to being a dance lover, Laura enjoys fashion (especially unique street style), interior design, and finding one-of-a-kind pieces by local artists and artisans.
