The LEVYdance Board of Directors has announced the addition of Daniel Harvey to its Board, bringing LEVYdance’s governing body to nine members.
Originally from Australia, Daniel moved to San Francisco in 2017 and is an alumnus of the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne. His work in design and production has seen him working with opera companies throughout Australia and on productions for Broadway, London’s West End and Australian national tours. He brings with him an extensive network in the performing arts industry throughout Australia and in London.
"I see a strong alignment between the mission and goals of LEVYdance and my own in producing cutting-edge creative work, while promoting gender and cultural equity in the arts,” he said.
In San Francisco, Daniel works as an arts manager with both Intersection for the Arts and Opera Parallèle, two examples of successful organizations thriving amid a challenging arts market. Daniel knew instantly that LEVYdance is a company whose work he wanted to support.
"Being part of these two organizations has given me strong insight into the challenges and successes of managing arts-based nonprofits,” Daniel said. "Through this work I have learned the value of a strong and active Board for an organization."
“I believe success is built upon solid relationships on every level, and this is particularly true for a Board member,” he continued. "I am very excited to be working with Garance and the team at LEVYdance and look forward to being a strong ambassador for the organization."
Beyond his professional life, Daniel enjoys escaping the city to explore California, international travel, and binge-watching Scandinavian TV series.
