Based on the classical teachings of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, the Ashtanga system includes a set sequence of postures linked together with breath and movement. Each posture builds on the previous one. The student memorizes their sequence and practices it on their own during the class, which enhances one's ability to develop a strong self-awareness, self-discipline, and independence within the context of the class. The teacher will continue to support each student through physical adjustments and some verbal instruction as they practice.
**Flexible start time** (come any time between 7am-9am) and the length of practice will grow over time. No experience with the sequence is necessary, and beginning students are welcome.
