Garance Marneur is known for designing compelling experiential spaces and costumes for theater, dance, opera, and film. The press has referred to Marneur's work as "a visual coup d'état," describing her design for a 2011 Royal Shakespeare Theatre production as a "great set complemented by terrific projection; which at one point made the balconies around the theatre appear to rise and fall as though in a silent earthquake. An extraordinary effect." Marneur was selected as one of the 12 most influential designers in the UK by the Society of British Theatre Designers, representing the UK at the 2011 Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space. In 2007, she received the prestigious Linbury Biennial Prize for Stage Design, the highest award for stage designers in Europe.
