Since its founding by Benjamin Levy in 2002, LEVYdance has developed into a nationally-recognized performing arts organization that serves the San Francisco Bay Area dance community as a creative incubator, community space and innovative arts presenter. In 2015, LEVYdance welcomed as Executive Artistic Director Garance Marneur, an award-winning stage designer, to lead the company into its next chapter of artistic excellence and creative and community partnerships.

At the core of LEVYdance is an internationally-touring dance company recognized for innovative, interdisciplinary, interactive works that explore the nuances of being human. Its values of risk-taking and rigorous creative development, along with its aesthetics of kinetic dance that balances form and raw emotional experience, resonate through all of the organization's programs.

LEVYdance's activities are diverse, all united by a desire to build community both within and beyond the professional dance world. LEVYdance embraces the audience as an integral part of performance and seeks to engage with individuals from many backgrounds and life experiences. Beyond performing in traditional venues, LEVYdance creates innovative multi-media, site-specific and installation works that explore new relationships between performer and audience.

Current multi-disciplinary projects include a week-long Summer Intensive for student and pre-professional dancers; the quarterly LEVYsalon focusing on new work by local artists; and the Artists Maximizing Potential (AMP) choreographer residency program.

LEVYdance creates art to ignite awareness of our shared human experience.
